Maria Ledyaev Hyllested is a jazz and contemporary vocalist, pianist, and teaching artist with over 15 years of experience inspiring students of all ages and levels. Originally from Latvia, she is bilingual in Russian and English and brings an international perspective to her teaching and performance.

Maria studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. She was also twice awarded the Jazz Scholarship at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Jazz Summer Program in recognition of her artistic excellence.

After spending ten years teaching and performing in the United States, Maria developed a dynamic teaching approach that combines strong technical foundations with creativity, improvisation, and confident stage performance.

In addition to voice, Maria teaches piano and leads preschool music development programs, introducing children to music through singing, rhythm, movement, and creative activities in a warm and encouraging environment.

Maria is passionate about helping every student develop confidence, musicality, and self-expression while fostering a lifelong love of music.
